13th census, 1910. [Catawba of the West] [microform]. [1910]

Census records of areas covered by Project "Catawba of the West." Catawba Indians (Siouan speakers) of South Carolina sent immigrant groups into Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico during the late 19th Century. The project is the first ethnography of these "Catawba of the West." Their social history is a case study in (apparent) success of a migrant group resettling in a totally alien environment, "assimilating," yet preserving a unique ethnic identity. Contents: Roll 113.
